I knew from the start that I wanted to do a Groom’s cake. I am a girl who just can’t say no to cake on a normal day, so you KNOW for my wedding the cake was a very serious matter 😉
I simply put my faith in my favorite baker, Michelle’s Cakes (www.michellescakes.net) and she worked her magic. Michelle knew that I wanted a cake of a fish and she knew that the wedding’s vibe was to be whimsy and fun. I thought the cake was super cute! The cake flavor was Red Velvet. I knew I had to have this flavor just because of the red velvet armadillo cake in the movie, “Steel Magnolias”. Too funny!

To decorate I started with the use of the wedding color by using a lime green tablecloth and covered it with a crab/fishing net over top. My mother in law had an antique tackle box and a tin fishing sign, we also put a few oyster shells out and a little handheld net. To finish it off I put live plants in mason jars and added some cattails. Looked great! My husband loved it. 🙂
