I’ve gotten a little behind in my Easter crafts this year, I didn’t even decorate the house yet… I just set out a few things so far. The baby is teething and belive me when I tell you, this has been a LOOOOOONG week. I may not have gotten any Easter fun done yet if it wasn’t for my monthly craft date with my wonderful sisters. Each month one of us takes a turn in hosting our craft day and we get together once a month to craft and gossip. Usually we don’t finish our crafts that day because we spend so much time running our mouths! But none the less, I look forward to it each month… my sisters are my best friends and anytime with them I cherish!
This month my sister Erica hosted. You can visit Erica at her blog, Tattered Elegance. Erica’s craft idea this month was to make an Easter Egg topiary. She provided us with the pot, styrofoam cone, plastic eggs and lots of fun ribbons, decals, supplies for moy and all sorts of other goodies to decorate our eggs. I spent about an hour decorating 3 eggs when I realized it would take me forever to do enough to make an entire topiary. So I ended up just making a nest out of moss and putting the three eggs in it (this will be my next post!). When I got home, was when I got busy.
Here is what’cha need:

Styrofoam, flower pot, hot glue, eggs, ribbon, finial & moss
Here is what’cha do:
First I glued the foam cone into the flower pot, then I hot glued the moss all over the cone.
After the entire cone was covered in moss, then it was time to glue on the mini Robin’s eggs. I got the eggs from the craft store, I think they were just $1 for about 20 of them. Basically I just hot glued the eggs all over the topiary.
After the eggs were on, I glued some ribbon around the top of the pot to pretty it up. I still felt like it was missing something, then it hit me, rosettes. I can’t seem to do a craft lately without adding rosettes to it. I am addicted! So I made about 10 out of the rest of the ribbon that I had.

What tree doesn’t have a beautiful topper?? A ceramic finial was used to decorate the top of my topiary. And there she is! I love it!
Now I thought my topiary was awesome… that was until I saw my sister’s. Her’s looks like the “to do” version and makes mine look like the “to NOT” version! LOL!! Oh well!
It’s funny because when I left her house all she had done was started to paint her eggs, so I thought it was pretty funny that we both kinda had the same vision. I can’t wait to see what Neely decided to do with hers! If you make one, send me your link or pics, I would love to see how’s your turned out!
