Mint Chocolate Oreo Truffles

What a gorgeous fall day! Ok, so it technically isn’t fall until Saturday, but what a beautiful, crisp, cool day, I LOVE IT!  Today’s recipe, Mint Chocolate Oreo Truffles are a fantastic easy treat to make to any fall parties you have coming up.  With all the football games, Halloween parties and Holiday festivities approaching, I am glad I got this recipe when I did!  I served these truffles at a Labor Day cook out, and they got rave reviews.   Another mom at football practice shared this tasty goodie with me… she said her kids beg her to make it every Sunday for the Redskins games, so I had to share the secret with you.

Here’s What’cha Need:

  • 3/4 package of Oreo cookies
  • 1 sleeve of Keebler Grasshopper cookies
  • 1 8oz pack of softened cream cheese
  • Dipping chocolate

Here’s What’cha Do:

  • Crush cookies into crumbs (use a food processor/chopper or a plastic bag with a rolling-pin)
  • Add cream cheese to cookies and mix well together
  • Roll mix into 1 inch balls, place on cookie sheet and freeze for at least an hour
  • Dip into melted chocolate and place on wax paper – the balls that you are not using at time should be kept frozen
  • Add any sprinkles or  topping to the truffles before the chocolate sets

This recipe makes probably around 30 truffles… more or less depending on how big you make them.  If you don’t like mint, then omit the Grasshopper cookies and just use a full pack of Oreos.

You could really dress these beauties up.  Put them in their own pretty wrapper and gift them to someone… that is if you don’t eat them all first!  Enjoy.  Until next time, friends.
