Woodland Baby Shower

This past weekend I helped celebrate a very special lady and her soon to come sweet baby boy!  She choose a woodland theme for her nursery so we decided to go with the same thing for designing her baby shower.  I had some great help from her mom and another friend.  Together, I’d say we made a pretty awesome team!

Here’s a look at some of the highlights from the shower!

Everyone loved the Trail Mix Bar – I was also very happy with how it turned out.   The guests made their own trail mix  with ingredients that were in glass jars & brown paper bags.  There was silver scoops to scoop their mix into their little  brown favor bags.  The following items were at the station; peanuts, almonds, M&Ms, marshmallows, Cheerios, gummy bears, granola, cranberries, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, Reese’s, Chex Mix pre made cheddar trail mix, pretzels, raisins, Hershey kisses.

A Photo Booth area was a must have on the party planning list. We wanted to be sure to have a nice area where the Mama to be could take lots of photos with her guests and to open gifts in front of.  We ordered the props/banner & string lights off Amazon and the curtain we used was a beautiful shimmery gold curtain from Burlington.

For the table centerpieces, my friend Karen made these adorable little diaper cakes wrapped in burlap ribbon & a woodland themed ribbon.  She topped the cakes with  various woodland creature wood cut outs and filled the empty space with crinkle paper.  We added some fall floral, pine cones and sprinkles with Hershey kisses.

The game table had an area for our Diaper raffle.  Everyone who brought a pack of diapers filled out a ticket and we drew names to give out various prizes.  We also had a savingpng-9print out game of matching the baby animal name to the correct adult animal, there was baby prediction cards (birth date, time, weight, height) for guests to fill out.  And we also played a “Price is Right” style game where we showed various baby items (diapers, pacifiers, diaper rash cream etc) and the guests had to write down the price they thought it was. The person who’s total was the closest wins a prize.

At this station I had wooden blocks, stencils & wood markers out for guests to decorate a block for the baby.  My only regret was not ordering more blocks for this – the kids wanted to do multiple blocks – it was a hit.  What a great way to build memories with the new baby by giving him a classic toy of wooden blocks decorated by his loved ones!!

And to give the new parents a little humor during those late night diaper changes we had a station where guests could write a funny or encouraging phrase on a diaper for the parents to read – hopefully to help lighten the load of parenthood – haha

Here is our favor table.   We had a sign in sheet for guests where they make a thumbprint and sign it on a tree for the baby.  For the favors, I made heart shaped bird seed feeders tied with a blue ribbon.  I will post directions on how to make the bird feeders soon!

And of course my favorite part – the food!  We served mini BBQ sliders, Chick Fil A Nuggets, veggies & dip, buffalo chicken dip, potato salad, fruit, meatballs, punch, Acorn Donut Holes, Hedgehog Cheeseball, Lady bug cheese circles, Pawprint cookies, and a cake from BJs (per request of the mama).

The shower turned out beautifully and the mama to be was surprised and so grateful.

Until next time, friends!
