Moss Covered Bird’s Nests with Embellished Eggs

A sure sign that spring is in bloom is to be able to hear the lovely songs of the birds.  My toddler is fascinated by birds, she is constantly pointing them out and hearing even the faintest of chirps.  The love of animals and nature is in her blood, her daddy is the most enthusiastic outdoorsman that I have ever met.   To only be 15 months and already trying to call ducks, owls and whippoorwills… well, there is no mistaken where she comes from!

At my sister’s house for our monthly craft date, I started working on my Easter Egg Topiary, but it took me an hour to just decorate three eggs!  One egg has lace and flower embellishments hot glued on, another is covered with sequins and the last one (my favorite) is wrapped in a beaded necklace.   I think they all turned out cute!

My eggs needed a home, so I set out to make a nest.   I used the catch basin of a 1 gallon terra-cotta pot and hot glued moss all over it.  With the moss covering the entire piece, it really looked like a nest, it was the perfect shape!    I think I will make another one to put my Yarn Wrapped Easter Eggs in!

Here is my nest and eggs surrounded by my love birds on my entry way table, along with my Easter Egg Topiary. Welcome spring!
